US

Deposits – All deposits are to be paid directly to Apocalypse Girl llc. We prefer cash or Venmo for deposits, as in certain instances they are refundable and we don’t care to get stuck with credit card processing fees if we have to give the money back

Conditions under which we will refund a deposit – Extraneous circumstances. Everyone remember COVID lockdown? In the case where we are forcibly shut down by a cruel and tyrannical government, we will obviously refund your money if you are scheduled during the time when we are shut down. If the artist completely drops the ball or hasn’t done the artwork at all – we are very busy dealing with >100 working clients at any given time, and sometimes, unfortunately, life intervenes (sickness, death in the family, etc.) and we can’t beat the clock and don’t have things ready when we said we would. this rarely happens, but when it does, we will be happy to refund any deposits and give you some free swag, and chair time in the future.

If the artist is unavailable – Like most people, we get sick or paper cuts or have emergencies come up. Unlike most people, we are not allowed to and ethically wouldn’t work with a slight cold or wounds on our hands or forearms. We are in intimate contact with people with open wounds and this could end badly. So if we have to take a small financial hit to maintain those standards we are OK with that. We generally try to reschedule people when we can’t get them in, but we understand if they can’t wait.

We cannot come to a common ground as far as design with the client. We will do our best to work with you, and take as long as it takes, but there are times when s client needs many rapid-fire changes and we just don’t have the time or resources to accommodate their needs. There are times when a project gets to the point of diminishing returns and we simply can’t afford to give that one person all the time and attention they need and just give them their money back so all parties can move on with their lives.

Conditions where we keep the deposit – When we feel we have reasonably created everything they have asked for and they are still not happy no matter what. No call, No show, or late cancellations where we cannot conceivably fill the spot.
The client keeps changing the design without allowing us to move the appointment back.
Decision by committee – ex: “I love the design but my wife/mother/best friend says…” – so save the deposit, let either let them do the artwork and bring it to us, or better yet, they can also leave a deposit and we can draw what they want to put on your body and you can choose form a myriad of designs that everyone you know got to contribute to!!
The client is unavailable, can’t make it for whatever reason, and can’t reschedule after we have developed the artwork.

Scheduling – Depending on the artist and the scope of work going into your tattoo, and of course your schedule, the wait might be anywhere from several days to several months. small simple tattoos are obviously quicker to get in. and the more flexible your schedule the easier it is. Weekends book out quicker than Weekdays. So if you are looking at color sleeve tattoos over the course of three consecutive days (OUCH!) and only have this window every other month and you need a Friday Saturday Sunday, it might take six months to get you in. If you can do this same sleeve in five-hour sessions and you have some weekday availability we can get you in much quicker. We work long hours and try to work with everyone but that means that everyone is just as important.

We also have what’s called a “standby list”.

Standby List – Often when people make appointments, if they have pretty open availability, we put them on what’s called our “Standby List.”

When we have someone reschedule or god forbid cancel, we go through this list to see who is available on that day. This is why, if you follow our social media, you see some people popping up quite often. They just happen to have the ability to make themselves really available on short notice when the phone rings.

Rescheduling – Life happens. We have people who have to reschedule all the time for various reasons. Pregnancy or buying houses or expensive emergencies (HVAC going out, car breaking down..) happen. Try to give us some notice and we are cool with it. some people have to reschedule pretty constantly (all of our SMU clients.) We are ok with this, more work later. Just try to give us some notice. If you do not call or no-show and it is not a really good reason you will not get another appointment. But other than that, we can usually get someone in the chair with a week’s notice or so. no blood no foul.

Pricing – We charge between $60 and $150 an hour depending on the artist and what we are doing. If you are a preexisting client, you are grandfathered in at the price you started at. There are also other circumstances we will offer specials and discounts on a case-by-case basis. For smaller pieces, we can flat price if this is easier for you.
